Catholic Priest arrested for buying crack cocaine
This is crazy. I can't imagine seeing the Priest from my church being arrested for buying crack. But sad that his sister was murdered and that's what lead him to this.
Priest Arrested
BETHPAGE - A Roman Catholic priest from Farmingdale arrested on drug charges has been arraigned.
Robert Lubrano was conditionally released to probation with the Substance Treatment Evaluation Program.
According to police, they saw Robert Lubrano purchase crack cocaine from a suspected drug dealer this morning outside the Bethpage Motel on Hempstead Turnpike. Police say they found crack cocaine on Lubrano as well as a crack pipe.
In court, it was revealed that when police approached Lubrano, he told them “I have been smoking crack cocaine ever since my sister was murdered.”
News 12 Long Island has learned Lubrano’s sister, Pat Ward, 66, was decapitated in her Farmingdale apartment by her mentally ill son in October 2015.
Lubrano was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The suspect dealer, Michael Oyola, of the Bronx, was also arrested and is being charged with criminal possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was released on a desk appearance ticket and told to return to court on Jan. 25.

Wow that's sad.
Is it bad that I was relieved he was arrested for substance abuse and not a molestation charge. He can go to rehab for this and I didn't want to hear all the Catholic priest bashing/jokes.

I agree. Our priest is being investigated for the latter...

I feel bad for this poor guy
I don't advocate drugs but he has an issue and is not immune just because of his religious affiliation.

I remember that story and how horrific it was. I can't imagine what it's like having to cope with the loss of family members like that. I'm sure I would need an escape too. I feel sorry for him and hope he gets the help he needs.

His sister was brutally murdered by his nephew. I'm not shocked. His family has been through a lot.
