DTAP while pregnant?
After my daughter was born 3.5 years ago, I got this shot in the hospital - mostly for the whooping cough. This time around, the nurse asked me if I got it and I said I already had it after my daughter and I was told that it was good for 10 years. The nurse said they are now recommending it for pregnant women between 27 and 36 weeks because it can pass the immunity along to the baby. Thoughts? I didn't discuss it with the doctor yet - going again next week so I'll bring it up.
Just wanted to see what others were doing...

I refused it. After spending a lot of time looking thoroughly into this one (it wasn't even offered 4 years ago with pregnancy #1), I could see straight from the CDC website that it hasn't had any proper research on pregnant women specifically. There is still very little known on what effects it can have on the baby in utero. My OB seemed confident in it, but I had to trust my mommy gut on this one. If I do decide I want it, it won't be until after baby is born. My OB was very understanding on my concerns and said that it will definitely be available at the hospital, should I decide to go that route.

DTAP while pregnant?
Dd1 in 2013 cdc rec was to get it in hospital after she was born.
Dd2 in 2015 cdc rec was thrid trimester so baby gets antibodies. That's what I did and felt comfortable with my decision.

DTAP while pregnant?
I refused the flu shot while pregnant but I absolutely got the tdap. I had whooping cough 3x as an adult and wanted the baby to be protected with the antibodies. It was extremely important to me to get it during pregnancy.

I got it this time. I work in a school and at 8 mos pregnant I was exposed to whooping cough with dd1, 3 years ago. Even though I got the vaccine the next day after giving birth, I was still concerned. I have much more piece of mind this time around.
