I have a house alarm so I'm not worried about break-in's -- it is ALWAYS on and I also have a firearm. I should be good. Chat Icon

We did too, along with a camera system since my husbands in the business...and 2 dogs Chat Icon
Nothing deters someone high as a kite on drugs...but then again that's why he was caught eventually Chat Icon

I'm sorry!

So, he broke in, and the alarm was sounding (each one is different but mine would make you go DEAF) and he just kept going?? Like, stealing stuff?

Were you guys home??

So then you had this monster on camera? And they caught him? (Thank God!)

He said the light was calling to him?! Is he mentally ill??

We were in Lake George just got there for vacation, he smashed a glass panel on the door (full body length) so that didn't set off anything at first because we didn't have glass shatter alarms and we didn't have motions on because the neighbors were watching my dogs.
He was high on meth driving from Rhode Island to the Hamptons. Got lost and made a u-turn on my cul de sac. Said he saw my blue light just calling him so he got out and knocked but nobody answered. He then left and went up to the corner gas station and bought a bouquet of flowers (which was left on my bed as an apology he said) after he stripped it of my sheets. He went around back and tossed a rock through my back door.
He took my underwear, kids photos, their personal belongings, my husbands clothes...etc. NOTHING of monetary value...my jewelry was just sitting there.
They caught him on a DUI traffic stop actually and then realized his car was full of my belongings. Police actually thought at first no stranger could have done that to us it must of been a "mister or mistress". Chat Icon
He spent the first month in a psych hospital but since has been transferred to serve jail time.
Honestly scariest time of my life....but I always think about the blue light!

I'm still picking my jaw up off the ground after reading these two details. What a complete nutcase!! Like...completely insane. He BOUGHT a bouquet of flowers to leave you while he was STEALING things from your house??!! Spending money while in turn stealing because he didnt have enough money. But stealing nothing of monetary value Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Creeper.

That just made my skin crawl. I had someone break into my house and have a drug/sex party while we were on vacay too so I know how it feels to come home to that. The level of insecurity and violation you feel is almost insurmountable and we actually knew who did it (DH's drug addict friend). I'm sorry that happened to you. That is much worse. The flowers on the bed??? Chat Icon Chat Icon

And yes I have a green light outside.
