Going with Oxford but its sooo expensive! Unfortunately, my internist that I absolutely love doesnt take Health Republic - even though that would have been a lot cheaper.

Re: Anyone with Health Republic Insurance

I currently have Oscar. I only have 2 complaints

1. There is a copay for everything. Meaning , dr visit is a copay, then if he takes blood and sends it to a. Lab, I get a bill for a copay through the lab. If I need special urine analysis, I'll also get a bill for copay for that though the lab. From what I understand, all insurance on exchange is this way.

2. I have some trouble finding Drs to take it. Not like there isn't a huge network of Drs who accept it. It just seems like every time someone recommends a dr they love, they are absolutely never on the list of providers. So I have been trying to find a primary dr for a year now w no luck. Without recommendations, it's hit or miss. That's a pain. But from what I hear, it's more popular in Nassau county then Suffolk. Health republic was the big one in Suffolk but now that it's gone, maybe Oscar will pick up more here. I'm hoping it does.

What I like about it

1. It's not as expensive as the other plans
2. No referrals
3. Their customer service is very good. They get back to you ASAP with any issues
4. They have what they call a misfit - step tracker. You can make $1 a day paid through Amazon gift cards if you make your daily step goal. My husband and I are cashing in on this deal. Pretty cool.

I was considering changing. Maybe trying Oxford. but with the prices for platinum (which is what we have with oscar) being close to $1900 - I may just stick w Oscar and continue my search for a primary.

My company is looking to switch over to care connect. The only issue is that the deductible is super high, and I'm almost 20 weeks pregnant and my current doctor doesn't take care connect so now i have to find new doctors etc...

My husbands company is switching from Health Republic. We were just notified we will only be covered through the end of November. I really hope they are on top of it and actively looking for another plan.
