he might have reached his "rock bottom"
i pray that this is the scare he needed.
SO isn't the healthiest of guys. he smokes an e-cig, loves meat, is a little oveweight, and LOVES to wake up in the middle of the night to eat junk. additionally, he has a rare form of barre guillain syndome (which is already a rare disease).
last week, he said he's thinking of quitting the e-cig and i almost jumped for joy.
the last couple of days, he hasn't been feeling well. last night was the worst. he had all sorts of men-of-a-certain-age-fear-of-heart-issue aches and pains and discomforts. on top of it all, he's a horrible patient (this alone is a reason i need to keep him healthy).
well, seems like it scared him. he didn't come in to work today. he made a dr appt, a dentist appt, has decided to quit smoking, and wants to shed weight.
i pray that getting scared is all he needs.

Re: he might have reached his "rock bottom"
DH hit his rock bottom last year with his heart attack, so it is good that SO hit his before anything really bad happened.
Junk food has to go. Middle of the night is a habit, not a need for it.
DH still has to get his weight down and under control. He justifies it by "my numbers are good". We need to have a serious talk when I get home from rehab and take the focus off of me.
Good luck to SO.

DH had a somewhat wake up call two nights ago. He ate a lot of fried food that night and woke up in the middle of the night with severe stomach pains. The next morning he said he knew he had to start watching what he eats and eating healthier foods
