Any "Photographers" out there?
I want to buy a better lens for my DSLR.
I have a Nikon 3200.
Any suggestions? Right now I just have the lens that came with it. I'd like something a little more advanced (lower appeture) looking for good quality without breaking the bank.

It all depends on what you want to do.
You could get the 35MM 1.8 AF-S lens. The output is much higher quality than a standard kit. obviously its a prime so no zoom. that gives a "normal" field of view.
you could get a 50MM AFS lens that would work well as a portrait lens. I have the 1.4, but I hear the 1.8 is nice too.
if you're looking for more range, you can get the 18-140 lens on ebay or craigslist as a take off or refurb for around $2-250. or the 18-105. Niether will give you much in the way of better quality than your kit lens, which is fine, but they do give better range.
if you're looking for a zoom that has better quality, you might consider a Sigma 17-50 2.8 or 17-70 2.8-4. Tamron and Tokina have versions too.
It depends on what you're looking to do, and what you have.
I currently have a D7000, 18-140, 35mm, 50mm, 70-300 and some flashes. I find I use most my 18-140, followed by the primes. I really like my 50mm 1.4, it gives some really cool shots, but is limited to what it can do, being at 50mm. 35mm is really cool too, great colors, sharp.
I'd also say, invest in a flash if you're doing indoor stuff. if you can bounce the flash it makes the pictures look a lot better, and you're not chasing low low aperture and having very slow shutters to get "good" pictures.

Photographer and Nikon girl here! I started with a D5100 and now have the D800.
I would absolutely go with the 50mm 1.8. You cant go wrong with this one.
Its a great lens and an even better price! It was my first non-kit lens and to this date still one of my favorites (I have the 1.4).
It doesn't zoom which makes it a prime lens but you get used to that quick and you will find prime lenses tend to be more tack sharp as well as be able to reach those wide open apertures better than a zoom.
Good luck!

I would 3th, 4th, getting the "50 nifty" lens. I have a 50mm prime lens on both my Canon DSLR and my Sony MILC (mirrorless interchangeable lens camera). There are usually 2 options one that has a really open aperture and one that's almost as open (i.e. the 1.4 and 1.8) Unless you have the disposable income you're probably fine getting the f/1.8 for portraits.
