Recommed your rescue or shelter to adopt a dog UPDATE!
Hi,
Please recommend a rescue group where you adopted your dog.
I had to put my sweet 14 year old beagle down recently due to cancer. I am so sad without her. She has just brought me so much comfort and joy over those years.
I am looking to rescue a female beagle or beagle mix. Open to 1-4 year old dog as well as a puppy.
I have been to NSAL and have searched the internet but I feel like I am not having much luck there.

Update! Finally found "our beagle". She is from a beagle rescue in PA. We are so happy with her! Trying to attach a pic. I hope it works.

Not sure if there is transport available but I think the beagle freedom project is wonderful! Check out their Facebook page and website. If they cannot transport that far of a distance, maybe they could lead you in the right direction! There dogs they receive we're bred for their temperament.
Friends of Freddie is located in middle island. I have seen beagle mixes there.
There is forever home beagle rescue located in PA. Again, check to see if transport is available if you are not willing to go there. There are people that do 'legs' of a transport to bring the dogs to their new owners!

We got our dog from Unchained nyc, fb page is the same.
There are tons of dogs in all shelters. Also, check friends of Freddie
Urgent death row, pups, almost home.

You might be a great candidate for an organization like this..... You can also try petfinder.com
The Beagle Freedom Project
If you are on the fence about the Freedom Beagle Project, it may be worth reaching out to them to discuss. A lot of the dogs are not in NY, but there are volunteers that transport dogs.

Bobbi & the Strays. I got my dog there 5 years ago. They have two locations, Freeport and Atlas mall in Glendale Queens.

Friends of Freddie! SOOOOO many dogs to choose from and lots of puppies! We got our Bichon/Poodle from there and they were wonderul!!!

First, I'm very sorry for your loss! Second, I volunteer as a foster with Last Chance Animal Rescue. It is an amazing group and all of our animals are in foster homes as opposed to a shelter so the foster family will be able to tell you exact details about each particular dog. All of our animals are fixed, micro chipped and up to date on vaccinations. You can check out all the adoptable dogs at lcarescue.org and feel free to message me with any questions you might have!

I adopted my 2 dogs from this group and they were great!
