Carseat position for infant and toddler
What is the safest position for two car seats (one infant and one convertible seat) ? I'm finding so many different opinions and I'm wondering if there is a true right answer.

Depends on the car.
2yo dd is behind driver and 8 week old dd is behind passenger. Captain seats in second row.

The "textbook" correct answer is the least protected child goes in the middle. But that isnt always an option, or what parents feel comfortable with.
If you have an infant and foward facing toddler then the toddler would do in the center since they are less protected.
Typically parents do outboard. I find that most put the infant behind the passenger since the sear needs to be moved up.

My infant is behind the passenger, and toddler is behind the driver. My passenger seat is moved all the way up in order for the infant seat to fit. There's no way my DH could drive the car if the infant seat was behind him.

Either way!
In my car the toddler is behind the passenger and the infant is behind the driver. I like to be able to turn and see my toddler or hand him things.
In my husband's car the infant is behind the passenger and the toddler is behind the driver. We have the toddler forward facing and my husband is tall so the infant wouldn't fit behind the driver.

My DD was always behind the passenger seat, when my DS was born I just put him behind the driver. They are now 6 and 2 and in the same positions.
I don't see why it really matters which side they are on, if you're ever in an accident you can easily be hit on all sides so how do you determine which is the "safest side"?
