HR people
Last week I received an email from a company that I interviewed with around this time last year asking if I was still interested in the position.
I met informally with the person who I would report to for lunch to basically go over what I would want to take the position. She negotiated everything with upper management and confirmed that they are able to offer everything I want.
Per her request I submitted my resume through their job portal, so that HR could perform a phone interview.
Of course the HR rep who I dealt with the last time around is very slow moving. I just received an email from her to COME in for a formal interview, I need to complete another form that I already did the last time and just provided online last week, 3 references again, my degree and awards etc. it's basically starting all over from scratch.
My question is - shouldn't they still all have this on file?? I mean the position was offered to me (I declined because of some personal issues at home that got in the eating starting). plus, they reached out to me. I need to confirm the email but wanted to know if I could ask her if she still had all my documents. The references would be the same as is the resume. Nothing has changed. I also don't want anyone in my office that I am considering this job - they want references from recent employer.

I would just respond back stating that you were in last year and did she need the forms updated or could she use what was submitted previously.

ITA. This actually happened to me (sort of) for the job I have now. I had interviewed for the position and they passed me over for another candidate. 8 months later, my now boss called me and offered me the position as they had an opening. They were able to use whatever application, etc that I had on file. So I would just ask.

Re: HR people
Ha, I work for one of th largest employers in the area and this totally sounds like HR.
I had to do things multiple times during the onboarding process.
It was maddening.

My own company has done this to internal employees. Myself included. It's frustrating
