If you were induced with both #1 and #2...

Was the second time quicker overall? My OB told me yesterday that if I am dilated at all by Tues, I will be induced Thurs. I am okay with this (I am high risk and anxious to get her here). He told me the second one should happen faster. Has that been anyone's experience here?

My doctor kept telling me that too...she basically was like your second time at this the baby should just fly right out...lol...no such luck...it was still relative quick but it actually took longer than my first...my dis just did not want to come out...and even at one years old he is still quite stubborn...lol

For me it was not quicker. Both of mine were very long with inductions. I was on pitocin for 10 hours with my 2nd before she was delivered.

My second induction was longer, but still pretty quick. I delivered my big fat 9lb 3oz baby in 1 push- IMO, that was the only part that was easier! I will say though that it was 9 hours from when my water was punctured and I started pitocin to my delivery with DS1. It was only 6 hours from steady start of pitocin to delivery with DS2. DS2 had bad reactions to the pitocin (we later found out his umbilical cord was in a knot), so I feel confident it would have been quicker had I started meds sooner! But you never know!!! Good luck :)
