If you leave waste in the toilet doesn't it start to smell? I would think you'd have to scrub the bowl like every other day? My toilet is near dds room and I try to gently flush in the middle of the night. I think it's one of those house sounds you just get used to.
I honestly only leave pee- and only for a few hours.
I woke up this morning at 5 am and had to pee. I went and just left it until we both got up for good at 630 am. So in that hour and a half, it was fine.
No smell.
If I ever had to get up in the middle of the night for something MORE than pee, I'd flush and not worry about waking DH. In that case, he would be 100% fine with being woken up by a flush!

Maybe it's because of I have a strong sense of smell but urine on top of urine after a couple of hours does have an odor. We do go to the bathroom a lot because my family drinks a lot of water. Then there's the splashing issue I mentioned earlier, I could never.

Not all the time. When I work from home, I do not. It's just me and it wastes a lot of water. I also do not share my toilet (DH and I have our own bathrooms) with anyone, so I'm not worried about splashing.

Flush every time except in the middle of the night while our sprinkler system is running. Our water pressure is terrible so it doesn't flush too well while our sprinklers are running.

Yes we flush all the time except for late night pee runs. Those I don't flush not to wake up DD or DH.

I can understand not flushing in the middle of the night to keep peace in the house, but I end up flushing each time. Maybe it will change once DC is born.
My brother is one of the yellow mellow people and I can't stand when he's at my parent's house and leaves it. The upstairs bathroom doesn't get used for weeks at a time and then it's just a disgusting mess.
I try to explain to him that I understand that he's trying to conserve water, but now we need to use chemicals to get rid of the smell and stains.

There are only 2 situations in which I don't flush right away:
1. If it's the middle of the night
2. If my DD is going to the bathroom right after me - but once she goes then we flush

The bacteria the must grow and stink in bathrooms where people don't flush disgusts me. how can you not smell it? And seriously, close the lid and the bathroom door if you think the sound is loud.

Sorry I can't get on board the no flush after using method. It's the reason a toilet was invented, otherwise, we'd all be going in a hole inside a closet outdoors.

People are referring to posters who said they leave it through out the day as to not waster water. And yes it will smell. Not talking about leaving it because you went in the middle of night.

nope. but just with pee. maybe every other? I honestly don't think about how may pees or how often we flush, but I think flushing every single pee is a waste of water. I do make sure the toilets are flushed before we leave for the day. BTW, we regularly flush at other people's houses and when we have company.

I don't flush if its right when I am about to get in the shower which is usually every morning for work. if we flush it messes with the cold water and it takes a little bit ;its def. less than a minute most times; I just have no patience so it will mess with the shower. it will become too hot and than you adjust and than its too cold until everything is settled. we only have one bathroom so if DD really has to pee and cant wait she knows if I am in the shower not to flush

We always flush every time.
We were at a party this weekend and there was a sign asking guests not to flush just pee. DD was in shock that I tried to stop her from flushing. She asked me to point out and read the sign seventeen times before we could leave the bathroom.

Always. Every single time. Water is the cheapest utility. 5 people in my house and our water bill is about $40-$50 every three months. I think I can afford that. That's so gross to leave it in there.
