‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot Dated for July 2016
Following the news of all-female cast coming together, Sony has now slated its new “Ghostbusters” pic to bow on July 22, 2016.
Earlier today, it was announced that Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones would star in the new pic with Paul Feig writing and directing.
Ivan Reitman is producing the pic with no plot details known at this time.

I love the cast but I am a huge fan of the original so I just don't know how I feel about this

I used to say the same thing until I watched a few of my old favorites recently. Honestly, I didn't laugh nearly as much as I did when it first came out. Thus, some of these oldies are a little tarnished. Thus, I'm not totally against these reboots.

why do they feel the need to redo something that was a classic (for its time period) and do it over with an all female cast as well? ugh.
Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy are SOOO played out, i really can't imagine it being anything original or remotely funny.

I'm guessing their going to take the comedic route on this ghostbusters...stupid. The movie is going to end up like a Scary Movie poking fun of the original.

I'll give it a chance. I am not a fan of remaking an old hit, but I am also about women power and want to see them succeed. Hopefully they change it a bit and don't make it too stupid/silly. I mean they're fighting ghosts so not expecting drama here, but fun with a good story.
BTW - I did love 21 Jump Street. I know it wasn't a movie and much sillier than the tv show (which I LOVED in the early 90's... swoon).
I think the 4 of them could do some fun stuff so I'll be rooting for the women!
Don't let me down...
