Yep! American girl dolls are definitely worth the cost.
My younger sister is an animal, very hard on her toys and her American girl dolls are in near perfect condition.

I look at is as a cup of coffee at Starbucks a day for less than a month, or almost a month of Iphone service. Neither of which are something I would pay for, so I don't mind shelling out the money for a tangible item that will last

Now if it was a pair of shoes that actually felt comfortable on my wide, horrible feet, and would actaully last for years I would SOOOO be down.
So I get what you are saying.
Priorities I guess!
