1st pregnancy; when did you buy maternity clothes?

I am 12 weeks... just have a little potbelly, but during the day when I'm at work I feel like my pants/leggings are pressing in and I feel uncomfortable.. but I don't think I quite need maternity clothing yet??

I know you show a bit later your first pregnancy... so for the first time girls, when did you start wearing maternity clothing?!

I think around 14-15 weeks I started to wear maternity jeans. By 16-17 weeks I had to start wearing materinity shirts because my belly started to pop.

I didn't really start until the end really. I wore leggings a lot and long shirts. but when I got my BFP for my first, I ordered a bunch of stuff right away lol. I didn't know I wasn't going to use them until the end.

I just started wearing maternity clothes this week and I'm 17 weeks. I could probably get away with regular clothes for another 7-10 days but I found my regular pants so uncomfortable throughout the day (the buttons, the zippers, etc.) and my regular shirts starting to get a tad too short where I was always pulling them down.

With my first pregnancy I began wearing the belly band around 10 or 11 weeks since I was bloating in the afternoons. Maternity pants around 13 weeks, I think. Shirts much later.

I'm 12 weeks with my 2nd and in maternity jeans but everything else still fits.

I'm almost 18 weeks and I'm still in my regular pants and shirts with a belly band. I'm thinking that soon I'm going to need to get some maternity stuff though. Hoping to catch some Black Friday sales!

Honestly, EVERYONE is different. If you're uncomfortable, maybe see about getting some stretchy pants or "transitional" stuff. Or you could always get maternity pants and hold them up with a belly band until you grow into it! GL!

I think I got my first pair of maternity pants at about 9 weeks. I'm having twins so my belly started to pop our pretty early and my reg. pants were just too uncomfortable.
Now at 13 weeks...I'm sooo comfy every day in my maternity pants.

I think I started with the belly band around 12 weeks+ and have been in maternity pants for about 2 weeks now. My advice - don't torture yourself or delay on the maternity pants. Honestly, these are the best things ever and I just wonder why ALL pants aren't this comfortable! No buttons or zippers, but full panel and they feel great! I think I just got an email today that destination maternity is having a BOGO sale so it's worth checking out.

Luckily a co-worker of mine brought me in bags of her maternity clothes and I haven't had to buy too much myself. But the jeans and pants are my favorite so far!

18-20 weeks. I lost a lot of weight, especially in the beginning (GD diet + no appetite) and bought maternity jeans before I needed them because with the belly panel, they fit better than my non-mat jeans. Also they are soooo comfy.

I am 31 weeks and I am still not in any maternity....I went up in size in regular clothes and I am mostly wearing long maxi skirts that had stretch in the belly area anyway, so I've been lucky....I think I may have to buy a few things and I will buy something for my shower....

I'm only 6.5 weeks but I am so bloated and uncomfortable that for the moment my instinct is to tell you to wear them whenever you begin to feel uncomfortable, especially in your pants! I am not a fan of waiting if already your pants are pushing a little. You're going to have to get mat pants at some point so maybe get them now, wear them for a day at work and see if you feel much better? If you do, I say go for it!

Around 16 weeks I started with the belly band. At 22 weeks I "popped" and started with maternity clothes.

From almost my transfer my 14s didn't fit and I borrowed pants from my mom in size 16.

12-13 weeks I went and bought half panel pants. But for most of those two weeks I used the rubber band method to secure my pants and then put a belly band over it. By the end of Week 13 though I gave in to Maternity pants.

But I had a fibroid the size of a grapefruit in there at one point, so I think my uterus was already a little stretched.

I think around 16 or 17 weeks. My regular pants still fit with the belly band but maternity pants were so much more comfy. I am currently 32 weeks and most if my pre pregnancy tops still fit.

I started with pants around 12 weeks. I was so uncomfortable in my regular pants. They would feel okay but then throughout the day would get more and more uncomfortable as I sat at my desk. Shirts I just bought some in a bigger size but now at 20 weeks, I need actual maternity shirts. Its so different for everyone. I am really jealous of you girls who went so long without maternity pants!

Around 14 weeks or so my pants didn't fit. I never had luck with the maternity bands. This pregnancy at 12 weeks the majority of my pants don't fit.

I'm going to say 8-10 weeks. I added as I went. I got big fast and my belly was huge by the end.

eta- The rubber band trick and belly bands to extend the wear of your normal pants never worked for me. I tried it for a bit but it was SO uncomfortable, I had to adjust every time I bent over or stood up. I was glad to get into maternity pants!

I started wearing maternity pants at 15 weeks my first pregnancy, but regular pants were pretty uncomfy by week 12.
