Birthday Party at kid's place gratuity Q
Contract suggests 10-15% of party total for hostess gratuity
This is an hour and a half kids place with average pricing but bc I have a lot of kids coming, the pre-tax, pre-food total is $1000. The hostesses are teenage girls. There are 3 of them. I usually give them $15 -$20 each. I can't imagine giving them $33-$50 each, but maybe I'm cheap?

Birthday Party at kid's place gratuity Q
My bill was 1000+ and I think I gave 50 each, there were two hosts. Honestly the party was so great I didn't mind it. Plus this party was for all three of my kids since they are 2 days apart.

I'm totally not answering your question, I know, but this is another reason we decided no more party places starting this year.
The initial cost.....all the extras....plus the tips.....

They are working the last 1/2 hour for your party $20 each is generous.

It would depend on how much interaction the party hostesses have with the children. If it is a place like pump it up where they are just standing there most of the time then I think that $20 each is fine. If it is a place that is more interactive and they are working for the entire hour and a half I would give them $40 each.

Re: Birthday Party at kid's place gratuity Q
I think $20 pp is generous. I think its crazy to tip at a %. The last party we had was required 15% gratuity which ended up being over $60 for 1 person for a 1.5 hr party. That's $40/hr plus whatever they are actually paid per hr.
CRAZY!
