I need to get my DD a pair for school & want something durable, comfortable (so thinking over the ear) but inexpensive so doesn't break within a week.

Five Below has a ton of them for $5. In our experience, they did not use them daily, and when they did use them it was for like 15 minutes, so I just bought cheapo ones and they were just fine for the entire year. I did see Frozen ones at Walmart though for $19.99 that were super cute.

Re: Headphones for 1st grader

I just got them for my boys (3 & 5) at Target in the $1 bins .......but they were $5.
Over the ear and very padded. Easily fit both of them

Was going to say Five Below too. We got the boys headphones from there for a long car trip so they each got their own. My 3 year old played with them through most of the ride and they are still fine surprisingly. They're also comfy and adjustable.

Our PTA sells them. It was the best option and my son knows to get another set right away from the school store if anything happens to them.

Always find decent ones at TJ Maxx or Marshalls. Usually in the men's dept. or up front by the registers. They have girly ones too.
