Ear Piercing- Age and Where?

Those of you who have gotten ur LO's ears pierced, how old was she and where did u go? My LO is 1 year old and I thin it's time we look into it bc I've just been putting it off as I want them soon. Not sure who to trust to do them. We live in Oakdale area. TIA

All the little girls that I know who had their ear's pierced got them done very young (3-4 months).

Their reasoning was at that age they would not play with the earrings and while growing up they wouldn't notice it.

I don't know if I would do it at 1 years old. They may keep trying to pull the earring out.

Some had it done at their pediatrician, other's did it at the mall. I can find out exactly where if you want.

DD was 4 months old and the ped did it.

We did at 2 yo at the pediatrician office with medical plastic earrings.

I always said I would wait for my girls to ask me. I wanted them to make the choice. My girls were nagging me this past spring so we took them. They were 3.5 and 22 months. We had it done at Claire's in the tanger outlets. My Ped doesn't do them. We had no issues. My girls were both old enough to understand the cleaning and turning of the earrings. I think one is a little young I might wait until she is older and can understand more of what is going on.

I waited for my DD to ask for earrings. I don't know why but I felt like that was a choice I wanted her to make. So, when she was 4 she asked. We took her to piercing pagoda (a kiosk jewlery shop in a mall). I asked them to do both ears at the same time. I am so glad I did! She was in pain and kept saying she didn't want them - lol. They were already done at that point but had we only did one ear at a time, she would never have let them do the second one!

We got it done at 7 mos. at Frank and Fran Jewelers in wantagh. For 12 mos..m it depends on your daughter. If she's beginning that stage where she is possessive of her body and her stuff, she may flip out at having someone be near her ears, and she may notice the earrings and you may need to wait til she's like 3 or 4. If she's still a "young" 12 mos.., then she would probably be fine.

My dds were about 4 months old and we did it at a piercing pagoda kiosk in the mall
