It was hell for two days. Poor thing wouldn't eat or sleep. The rash lasted a few days after that.

Re: Coxsackie Q?

I think it really depends how bad they get it. DS has had it twice. First time he had a lot of soars and was miserable, I'd say it lasted almost a week. Second time he had far fewer soars and was almost back to normal in like 3 days.

Re: Coxsackie Q?

The first time my son had it, he had a fever for 3 days and then when the fever went away, he only had two sores in his throat for a day.
The second time he had a HIGH fever on and off 4 days and then just one sore on his leg... Every kid is different...

My DS has it right now. We had fever out of no where on Thursday night. Then by Friday night sores started. By Sat they were inside and outside of mouth, on his hands, feet, arms, legs, bottom, etc... Sat and Sunday were miserable.... Friday and Sat night he cried ALL night (I think out of hunger and discomfort). We discovered on Sat that chocolate milk was something he tolerated so he had as much as he wanted! Last night slept through. Today (Monday) he was in good spirits all day---playing and such and starting to eat. Hoping tomorrow is our turning point so he can return to daycare in Wed. Pedi said once he starts to eat he can go back.

My DS had this when he was younger and I remember it took a long time for the sores to go away
