Red rash after vac
DS at his 5 yr well check got two shots. Needed for Kindergarten and he was due anyway. One was polio. Not sure which one bc I know he's had it before. The nurse did say his arm may get red where the shot was given, but that's the only side effect. I did notice last night it's red and still red this morning. Not worried bc he's acting totally fine, but wondering if anyone else had this and how long it will last. He's totally fine, but it looks worse than I'm sure it feels since he's running around playing with his brother in the other room.

Red rash after vac
DS had a rash on his arm right BELOW the MMR shot site. This was the second MMR and the first time he had no reaction. It took about two weeks to completely disappear. He really didn't even know it was there. Dr said it's normal.

Arm? AJ's are always in her legs.
But yes that rash is part of the drill for AJ. No matter which, some are worse than others. MMR is a huge lump that is hard and hot with the rash. She also gets feverish and lethargic a week later. The rest were just simply rashes or large bruised areas at or below the shot area.
fun stuff!

Re: Red rash after vac
DD just got DTaP and Tetanus boosters a month ago, had rashes in both arms but the tetanus site was really bad. She had no other reaction and I know other mothers reported the same thing. Strange to me because she had never had a reaction before. I really should have called but it slipped my mind. Hydrocortisone cleared it up in a few days.

Yeah... arm. I thought it was weird too bc it was the first time in his arm. Usually it's always been in his leg

They were going to do DS's last set of shots in his arms. But I said no. Do the legs. He has no fat on his arms... He usually gets pretty red after a shot too.
