If you had a scheduled C-Section...
My last section was scheduled and I think I remember them telling me not to wear nail polish (to monitor oxygen levels) and not to shave. They said it makes it harder to cut? I have a repeat section scheduled and I was planning to do my nails and clean up a day or two before but I don't recall what is allowed. I get the instructions at pre-adm testing the day before. Is it ok to shave? Nail polish? Wdyd? Any other instructions you received other than using the special soap in the shower and fasting? Thanks!

I wasn't told anything about nail polish or not shaving so I had my nails done as usual and I think I did my best at shaving lol. And I dont even know what special soap you're talking about lol.

I did the special soap and my toes were done but not my nails because I generally don't do them...didn't hear about shaving but they were huge on no earrings

I got a manicure the day before and had no issues. no idea about special soap. I couldn't eat after midnight

My first section I had on dark nail polish and they had to take it off the one finger they use to monitor o2 levels. I'm sure polish is fine as long as it's a light color.

When I went for my 4th C-section in July, the lady at pre-surg said I could not shave past that point and I also had to wash with the special cleaning stuff. Something about it cutting the chances of infection. Shaving was never an issue with my other 3 and I never had the special soap to sue before either. I wonder if its new or if it just depends on the person you get at pre-surg
They never mentioned the nail polish

Scheduled and got a mani/pedi and shaved. None were a problem. Good luck!

I was not told that but I remembered not to wear polish from a prior surgery. I do believe I shaved though...

My section is scheduled for May 23rd. I was considering getting a pedicure and I wish I could see well enough to shave lol.

At my pre-op treating they told me not to shave anywhere on my body 3 days prior to section. Something about a risk of infection. They did not mention nail polish.
FYI I delivered at Southside.
