Developmental Optometrist

Has anyone seen a Developmental Optometrist? I just learned about this after taking my son to an OT evaluation.
He is 5 and sometimes closes one eye to use scissors.
Just wondering if anyone has gone through this? Is there one that you could recommend?
Thanks,

Dr sherman

Does not take insurance but you can put in for out of network. It was worth the money. It was $350 but he spent a straight hour with DS. Did so many tests. We took him to reg eye Dr (opthomologist) as a follow up 6 months later and sherman did a much more thorough exam. Checked for so many things and we learned a 3 ds has an astigmatism.

Re: Developmental Optometrist

My DD was born with bad strabismus. I had a vision evaluation done by Dr. Michelle Besseler in Westbury I learned so much about how she sees. She doesn't use her eyes together, see 3d ext. They do a comprehensive eval. They also i don't believe take insurance so its pay out of pocket but its defiantly a through exam.
