Anyone have a Vbac with induction?
My 1st was a scheduled c due to a rare medical issue so no basis of how labor would have went. My drs will let me go til 41.5 weeks but have also said I could try the induction. Im not a fan of inductions in general and the only people I know who tried with a vbac wound up with a c-sect anyway. Just wanted to know if anyone had a successful vbac with an induction.

Re: Anyone have a Vbac with induction?
my doctors are okay with it (Im sure there are parameters that have to be met etc)
I know a few people that tried but all seemed to fail and have csect anyway.
It why im asking - im curious if the percentage of successful induction vbac is really low than not worth trying.

Re: Anyone have a Vbac with induction?
I did for my 3rd. (My 1st was CS, 2nd VBAC, 3rd VBAC)
I was about 3 cm but not in active labor so the doc stripped my membranes and sent me to the hospital.
He started pit that night when I didn't progress more than 1/2 a cm after the membrane stripping.
I guess I was technically induced with my 2nd as well. I was in labor all night before I went to the hospital- but was only at 1.5cm when I got there. They broke my water and started pit after about 4 hours in the hospital with no further progress.
ETA: I was 39w5d with DD2 and 40wks3d with DD3

Re: Anyone have a Vbac with induction?
I wish.. my OB won't do an induction for a VBAC because it was too risky, wound up going to 40wks, 6 days and had to have a C because my bloodpressure started creeping up.

Re: Anyone have a Vbac with induction?
My OB practice would not under any circumstances induce with a VBAC.

Re: Anyone have a Vbac with induction?
Wow - didn't realize a lot of drs wont even try it. My office is so laid back about it - they do say it doubles your risk but they use the risk percentage of .5-1% risk of rupture and with induction it would be 1-2% - so they still consider this low enough to be worth trying.

Re: Anyone have a Vbac with induction?
My midwife and MD were ok with it. I was already 3cm and they broke my water and then they gave me very low dose of pitocin and I delviered 5 hours later.
I had a great VBAC!

Re: Anyone have a Vbac with induction?
I had a vbac in 2006. I was not able to be induced. I had to labor naturally and all on my own.
In 2012, when I was PG with #3, I wanted vaginal birth again, but since I developed pre-e, I had to deliver right away and I couldn't be induced, even though my prior c/s was 8 years before and I had had a v-birth in between. I had to have another c/s with #3.

Depends on the method used. My midwives were ok using a foley catheter and low doses of pitocin. Typically cervadil and/or lots of pit is a no-no for vbacs.
