Ordering crib ? (Esp jewish moms)

My mom is buying us our crib :) she and I found one we fell in love with today at BRU. I'm just about 18 weeks, so she doesn't want to order it yet.
I'm afraid if we wait too long (mom said at least two months) it won't be available, etc. the guy at BRU wAs no help re: is this a new model, etc.
She's hesitant bc she's superstitious. I on the other hand, not so much.

What should I do? If I push push push I could get my way - but do I NEED to?

Are you going to be using a bassinet in your mom for the first month or so? If so, you don't really have to worry about the crib in the beginning. DD didn't sleep in her crib until 6 months, and she didn't nap in her crib until about 3-4 months. I would sometimes put her down and turn on the mobile to keep her entertained for a few minutes, but it wasn't at all necessary for us in the first months.

Do whatever makes you comfortable.

We ordered the crib when I was about 26-27 weeks. Our crib from BRU took about 1 week to deliver from the day we ordered it.

You already know my thoughts on this, but...

We orders all of our furniture after our 20 week anatomy scan. Left only a deposit. After dd was born we called Bellini to pay the balance and have it delivered.

As far as superstitious, I just wouldn't assemble it (if it even needs to be) and have it set up in your room.

Baby doesn't sleep in the crib in the beginning . My dd slept in the bassinet for the first 6 weeks. I'm Jewish I ordered furniture at 34 weeks and it didn't arrive until she was 3 weeks old. I survived and happy I waited.

We ordered our cribs last week (@19 weeks). We also ordered from BRU and it took less than a week to come in. I don't think you will have a problem with waiting for the furniture.

Es mother didn't get the whole Jewish thing. So she bought it and brought t over to my house one day. I left it in the garage and the day I had the baby s and m came and set things up ( well I'm sure s did and m watched lol). However I should have checked the box because it was the wrong crib. It took about a month for everything to get resolved. Can you leave it in someone's house?

We are not superstitious so we ordered and will have the furniture here before the baby. we ordered less than 2 weeks ago and our furniture is being delivered Thursday. It only took about 10 days so I don't think there is any urgency for you to order the crib ASAP, you have some time if it would make you mom more comfortable. We ordered at 28 weeks. I cannot imagine waiting till after birth for delivery. I want everything set up in advance so I don't have to worry about it while I am caring for a newborn.

Can she have it delivered to her house and keep in her garage until you need it?
The crib I wanted was discontinued so I understand how you feel. I'm still annoyed about it lol

We had the furniture delivered to my FIL's house. We kept everything else baby-related in my aunt's garage. Once DD was born, we brought things over to our house.

My crib was picked out and ordered when my DS was 4 months old. Ordered from BRU and was in within a week.

I'm not Jewish, but I ordered my crib and furniture at the 21 week mark (Feb) and the set is on back order and will not be here until some time next month when I'll be 30+ weeks. For us it was perfect timing because I didn't want it set up too early, but I wanted to have the dresser in order to organize stuff after the shower.

A lot of stores will let you order and hold off on delivery until after the baby is born.

We ordered from BBB - the crib was in stock, and they said they could hold it for us in the store until we're ready to pick up. We ordered at 20 weeks and it was available right away.

we stored everything at my moms house until the baby arrived.

I'm Jewish. We had a shower and had our nursery furniture delivered before DS was born. But some of my jewish friends didnt have showers.

We ordered ours early as well from bbb
We left a deposit and you can call after your baby Osborn to deliver
Maybe they have same policy

We ordered when I was 25-ish weeks from BBB and everything was in stock. They held it until we wanted it delivered at 36 weeks. I delivered DS at 38 weeks.

Some people have the furniture delivered after the baby is delivered and the mom and baby are still in the hospital. I'm just too much of a planner and wanted DS's room set up before he arrived.
