is this a sign that he's ready for the potty?

My son for the past week or so (he's a week shy of turning 2 BTW) has been taking of his diaper. At times he refuses to wear one. I let him go without one for about a half hour and he didn't have an accident.
He also tells me that he poops after the fact.
I'm going go to buy him some underwear and a potty this week, but wanted to hear from some BTDT moms. You think he's ready or am I wasting my time?

Definitely think you should try!! I'm training my 18 month old now (no overt signs of being ready other than telling me she's pooping) and she's doing great!

I'm i'm the same situation my son's keeps taking his diaper off and always tells me pee pee or poo poo. always after the fact. He has gone pee pee 2x on the potty but I think it was just coincidence. He'll be 2 on tbe 23rd. My daughter was potty trained in a week but I hear boys are more stubborn.

DS was potty trained when he was 19 months old, so it's definitely possible that he is ready.
Once we decided we are potty training him, he was not allowed to wear a diaper or pull up again. He was naked or we wore his underwear.

We potty trained DS right after 2: no signs. We did the 3 day method. It worked.

DD was potty trained 22 months & the only sign was her saying pee pee when she saw a potty. She potty trained in a day.

My DD will be 2 on Thursday, we are doing 3 day potty training starting Friday!

She tells me when she does peepee and had recently started to try and wipe herself when changing her diaper so we'll see!
