Looking for someone to take down a tree.

Can you recommend someone to remove a tree from my yard? I'm located in the Huntington area. The tree is in the side yard, near the property line with easy access. Part of it came down last year during the storm. I need it taken down before spring comes with all that rain. It's about 36" diameter and guessing 40' high.

Re: Looking for someone to take down a tree.

We had a dead tree in our side yard taken down last year for a few hundred dollars, I want to say $300, but they didn't have to dispose of the wood.

We got a quote for a tree in the backyard, much bigger and more complicated and it didn't even come close to $2k.

Bryan @ Above All Trees 928-4544. He's based out by Port Jefferson though, so I don't know if thats too far.

Thank you. I am very prepared. My neighbor quoted me $3000 and he supposedly gave us the best rate.
I think my tree might a lot bigger than I thought. I just went on google maps to view it from the street and it's more than twice the height of 2 story home.

Thank you. My one tree will probably cost what you paid for the 5 but let's see what he comes back with. He is coming down today to give us a quote.

Um it's definitely not $2k per tree.

Unless you're removing a Redwood, maybe.

I'm having 3 removed that split, so it looks like 6 trees. $500, and he's splitting it into firewood and giving me chips for the yard.

Cheap Charlie quoted us $1700 with no charge for grinding down the stump. I am very pleased with that number. My neighbor quoted us $3000 last year but that was right after a storm and one of the main branch landed on my neighbors roof. That clean up cost us $600. I think timing has a lot to do with it. There hasn't been any major storms lately so prices are low.
I have two guys coming down today to give me another estimate. I don't think they will come close to Cheap Charlie's price.

I really think it depends on the type of tree, size of tree and if it's a busy season for tree trimmers.

That is a great price! I paid $500 plus tax for just one tree, with stump grinding.

We had a ridiculous amount of huge trees removed from our property last year. Call Hurricane Tree Service (631) 938-1206 the cheapest BY FAR. My parents used them as well and they did a great job.

Looking for someone to take down a tree.

We are going with Bob from Best Value. He came in at $1600 which is $100 less than Cheap Charlie. He is coming this Saturday to remove the tree. This includes grinding down the stump. I can't wait! I can grow grass now that my lawn isn't in shade.
