class for 2.5 yo?

DS is currently in My Gym classes... He's getting to wild and defiant in the class, and that's not who he is. Its a mommy and me style class with circle time, then activities with free play mixed in. He hates circle time, squirming the whole time (I literally pin him in my lap). He loves the free play, but then can't transition in to the group activites. I'm thinking he needs something with structure to it, more like a class that he can learn something in. And come September he is going to preschool. I wanted to do a swim class, but would I have to go in with him? And then there's this Lil Builders place I took him to for free play - he loved it there and they have classes too.

Check out the Mommy & Me classes at your local YMCA. They had a little more structure than My Gym, and were less expensive. However, I will say that at 2.5, my son didn't sit well for circle time either. I just let him do his own thing. Fighting him to sit only made him act out.
