what price point?
My son will be 5 in Jan...He loves:
-Lego sets
-Angry Birds
-Super Mario Brothers
-Star Wars
-still like playdoh
-board games (like mid-level)...Connect 4, Jenga, etc

My nephew is 7 and says he doesn't know what he wants. So my dh was in a hobby shop the other day and bought a rocket he can launch. It's pretty cool. Not sure is he will like it but the kid doesn't like anything so he gets what he gets hahahahaha.

DS is 6. For hanukkah he received the following gifts from us and our family/friends:
This kit where rocks were buried in a hard substance, it came with a mallet. He loved this one a lot.
