King Kullen in Patchogue closing
Did anyone else hear this?
Apparently, my MIL's former neighbor works there and told her they were closing but did not say when. Plus the pharmacy transferred all of her prescriptions to the Rite Aid.
This store is so convenient for me, I hope another supermarket goes in there.
ETA: I also heard that the Waldbaum's on Union Ave (by Joe's Pizza) is closing, but I never go there.

King Kullen in Patchogue closing
I read something on Patch recently that said it's just the pharmacy that's closing and not the store. Who knows though since there are plenty of rumors.
I used to shop there a lot most but I find the store set up so annoying and the selection fairly small although I like their meat section. I usually go to shoprite now but I like KK for when I need to run out for one or two things on the weekend since it's never too crazy there.

I find that KK to be so hard to navigate- the aisles are not straight they are all over the place on angles.
I also hate that they have limited store brands.
And as far as that Waldbaums on Union- that should have been shut down years ago.
What a dirty dump that store is!

King Kullen in Patchogue closing
One of my friends has family that works there, they said that the landlord raised the rent and that King Kullen and Michaels are closing and Walmart is taking over both stores. They did not say when.

I hope this isn't true! I don't think that's a good spot for a Walmart, plus, I love Michael's!!

This is what I was told as well by a friend that works there. And KK will be closed by the end of the year - maybe early January.

Nooooo, not Michaels too!!! Ughh, A Walmart there is not a good idea. I want another supermarket. I do not like going to Waldbaums across the highway.

I never liked KK... too expensive... as for the waldbaums on union... ADIOS!!! They never have anything i need and it always reminded me of a ghetto version of waldbaums for some reason... I would welcome walmart... between that and target replacing the flea market... I AM SET! lol

This is what I was told as well by a friend that works there. And KK will be closed by the end of the year - maybe early January.

Ugh I hope Michael's doesn't close! I agree with pp about the layout of that store. I can never find anything! I do love the new Shop Rite on 112. That is a great store!

King Kullen in Patchogue closing
Stop & Shop and ShopRite win again. That King Kullen has been consistently dead for years, and I'm surprised it lasted so long in such a busy shopping plaza.
I can't imagine a full-size Walmart fitting though. They do have the Neighborhood Market stores that are sized like a regular supermarket.
