social experiment - when did you start dating your S.O.? And how many years have you been together now.
I am having a discussion about when relationship-minded people usually start relationships as opposed to those only interested in more casual relationships.
let's see what the data says...
I'll start.
Started dating in August (met in late June). It's been 7+ years now! (married).
editing to add - please specify the MONTHS that these things occurred. the timing of the months is more important that the years.

We started dating August 2008. Moved in together a few days after, were engaged May 2010, married April 2011. Over 5 years now of being together.

Went to Junior High and H.S. together never had an interest weren't even part of the same group in the late 90's .
Met back on FB, exchanged BBM's (yea I know) in April 2009, started officially dating last week of April, engaged in December 2009, married in September 2011.

Started dating in September 2004, moved in together in October 2005, married in July 2008.
So we've been together a total of 9 years.

This is almost identical to our story! Except in ours, we had a little thing at the end of senior year, went our separate ways and 6 years later got back together on FB. That was in 2007, moved in a year later, engaged in 2010, married in 2011!

Moved in together November 2008 (yeah, that's right)
Got engaged January 2009
Married in May 2010
So.....together for a little over 5 years, married for 3 1/2 years (if my math is correct).

Met via an online matchmaking site in Oct '99. We casually dated for 6 months or so, then became exclusive.
I moved in with him around Oct '00.
Bought a home in Oct '01.
Engaged July '02.
Married in Sept '03.
So together 14, married 10...the poor guy.

DH and I went to the same HS and were in the same grade so we knew of each other for quite some time but we started actually hanging out spring of 10th grade and started dating in the beginning of 11th.
We've been together over 22 years now, married for 15 years next month.
11/12/91 - Officially started dating
4/5/97 - Got engaged
12/11/98 - Got married

August reconnected and went on 1st date.
Moves in together in November
Engaged July 31st into august 1st midnight
