How many years did you get out of your crib mattress?
I'm re-using my son's crib mattress for my daughter. He stayed in the crib until he was almost 3 yrs old. Then we converted it to a toddler bed for like a month before switching to a twin bed.
My DD is 6 mos old, and I feel like the springs are coming to the surface. I know they aren't meant to last for years, but I wonder if all the jumping in the crib put extra wear on it.
I don't believe it was an expensive one. It's a Serta, and probably about $80.
How many years on average did you get out of your crib mattress?

DD is 27 months and its converted to a toddler bed. I dont think it had much life left in it so when she goes to a full bed we'll throw it out.
Baby #2 (whenever we have one) will get their own mattress.

DS was in his crib for 4 years and will be used for the new baby. We have a foam mattress and it looks like it is in good shape

My DD was in her crib/toddler bed for 4.5 yrs until we gave it to our DS. The mattress is still like new, it's in great shape and its going on 5 years now.

Can you flip it? We used it for DD1 for almost 4 years now its being passed on to DD2.

all 3 kids have used it - my DD still does and my oldest just turned 6 - still works great! like the day we got it!

Mine is 7 years old, and we're still using it, and will also use it for DC#3 coming in November.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like mine should be lasting longer than it is.

It's been flipped a few times throughout the years for my son, so it wouldn't wear on just one side. But I can try the other side again.
I'm pretty sure my husband isn't all that thrilled to be buying more baby stuff. I've already bought new bedding, a new bouncy seat, a new diaper bag and a new stroller because she's a girl! He doesn't tell me no, but he looks at me and rolls his eyes.
