Age for zoo on vacation?

We will be going to San Francisco to visit my brother in about a month. DD will be just shy of 9 months. My in-laws and my aunt are also coming along. We only have 3 days there, one of which we are doing Napa.

We have all been there before, so we don't need to hit all the "must-sees". I was contemplating having us spend an afternoon in the zoo (it is supposed to be a great zoo, and is close to the shore, which will be nice), but I'm worried that DD will be too young to get anything out of it; if she is just along "for the ride" we may as well do more general sightseeing.

Thoughts on whether it is worth it to make time for a zoo while on vacation with a 9 month old?

At that age my DS would have loved it but he loves animals.

Does your DD like animals? I think that would be the answer. If she's scared of animals then no but if she likes them than go for it.
