BP covered by Insurance-Questions
I have UHC and was given 3 websites
www.byramhealthcare.com
www.edgepark.com
www.lucinacare.com
I am interested in the Purely Yours, Medela and Melodi Advanced. I was told I have to order after the baby is born 
Question 1: For those who just gave birth and ordered bp through any of these companies, did you experience a shortage or delay in delivery?
Question 2: My preferred choice is Medela. But, if it is not available at the time the baby is born, I am considering the other two choices, Purely Yours and Melodi. Any feedback on these two?

Hi.
I used lucinacare- I got the Philips Aventbreast pump...I called them when baby was day old and they shipped my BP in 2 days.... I didn't start using the pump till baby was 5 weeks old tho...Good Luck :)

another pump that was covered from UHC is Hygeia. I like it better than the Medela and I've been exclusively pumping for 6 months so far. the only thing I like better is the portability of the Medela.
Eta edgepark was great to work with and I received my pump while I was still in the hospital.

I have UHC but was only given the choice of a Ameda(sp?) & Playtex & since I use Playtex Drop in bottles I chose that brand of pump. I like it and I dont get sore nipples from the flanges. I used EdgePark & got my pump a week after I ordered it (after baby was born)

I got the Medela through Edgepark. At first they told me there would be a delay and then after putting me on hold for a little while, they camr back and told me they were able to locate one. I called when my baby was a few days old and I think I had it within a week. My pump works great.

Not sure. But there is def a shortage bc of the insurance coverage. Again no prob w the Playtex.
I would call all 3 of those suppliers & see what is offered under your plan then research those brands to find what would work best for your needs.

I have UHC and according to Edgepark, they only offer the Ameda and the Playtex ones right now.
Byram only seems to be offering the Ameda purely yours one too. No medela- which I am pretty disappointed in. I haven't ordered yet b/c they all say I have to wait for baby to be born.
Genedyne - this is what I pulled off their site for UHC members
Lucina Melodi Advanced Breast Pump - must meet UHC Plan criteria and order within 60 days of birth. Criteria - hospitalized newborn and or feeding anomaly.- (UHC Commercial Plan NICU-only)
Hygeia Enjoye - (Medicaid NICU orders only)
Rumble Tuff Double Electric Breast Pump (see product list for description)
Allegro Double Electric Breast Pump (see product list for description)
Lansinoh Affinity Pro Double Electric Breast Pump
Looks like the options are pretty slim.

The medela is on a 2 week delay for edgepark and byram when I called Thursday... Edgepark was a pita- I am33 days from my due date and their policy is you have to be 30 days or less to order. My insurance said I could order anytime so I ordered through byram.

When I spoke with the breast pump department at Byram they told me they would send me the paperwork and I should send it back and if they needed a prescription they would let me know. They also told me that if she was born earlier to call and tell them because they only send it out when she is born or due. I sent it in a month and half before my daughter was due and a week later before I could even send in the prescription, my breastpump was at my front door. They also told me that they say the medela one is back ordered but its not. They order it when they get your paperwork! I also had the choice of the ameda or medela and this was only 3 months ago. I should also say that my friend who i work with had the same experience a few weeks ago!
