Ok, now i'm getting nervous
I went for my 30w growth sono (although i'm 31w) yesterday. Everything looked great. The baby had a full head of hair (which he OBV got from me), long legs and was already in the head down position.
I know this is still average but the baby weighs 4.6lbs already. I've only gained 18lbs and the baby is already larger then I was at birth (I was a healthy but a very small baby)!! I'm a tiny person. This little boy still has the possibility to double in weight by my due date.
How am I going to do this!!!!! So far nothing has been mentioned about me having a c-section. Either way I don't care lol jkaljlfkdjalfjdlafjdla...

Honestly, don't let them scare you about size. I believe for the most part, your body will not grow a baby you are not physically able to give birth to. Obviously there are always exceptions, but stressing about it isn't going to affect his size :) HTH!

Re: Ok, now i'm getting nervous
it also can be wrong. they told me with DD that she was 8 lbs at a 37 week appointment. She was born a week and half later and was only 6 lbs! So to me there is a 50/50 chance of its accuracy.
now if they told me 9 or 10 lbs at a 38 or 39 week appointment, then i would start freaking and say c-section!!! (im petite as well).

Re: Ok, now i'm getting nervous
When I was pregnant with #1, I was a little nervous because my husband was 10 freakin pounds when he was born! I did NOT want to push out a baby that big. Not to mention, I was beyond a week overdue. Thought I'd have a 12 pounder on my hands. Ended up being fine. She was 8 pounds and perfect. Birth went smoothly, and I was glad I didn't waste time obsessing over something completely out of my control and unnecessary. So try not to dwell on it.

Dont worry! You can do it! I'm a tiny person as well (5'1", 110ish when not pregs) and I had 8lb and 8lb 13oz babies (not at the same time ) and pushed them out just fine!

Re: Ok, now i'm getting nervous
My DD was always measuring on the up side of avg in her Sonos and they were estimating a 8.5-9lb baby...they even offered me a C...which I wound up w/ for other reasons....but DD was only 7.1 lbs at birth...to which the Dr reminded me of the +- a pound rule! Don't let them scare you.

crashing,... to say, don't pay attention to what they tell you! They told me DS was going to be 9lbs for sure. He was born at 7lb 15oz (delivered vaginally).

Re: Ok, now i'm getting nervous
Take it with a grain of salt,.......they are notoriously wrong with their measurements.
They told me my DD would be well over 10 lbs..........she was 8lb 8oz. They told me my DS would be around 7.5-8 lbs and he was 9lbs 4oz. They were totally off both times.

Re: Ok, now i'm getting nervous
first of all those numbers are only accurate within a pound... so whatever. it might be way smaller.
secondly, baby doesn't really pick up speed in the weight gainage until the end.
you'll be just fine, love. your body is meant to do this -- you are going to have a lovely squishy that will come out just fine

Re: Ok, now i'm getting nervous
don't worry about it I'm tiny too!! and my doctor predicted my baby was going to be 7-8lbs. I am not nervous because our bodies are meant to do this. Just embrace it and those numbers might be inaccurate in the end it will all be ok!!
