Giving up bottle
My LO is almost 11 months old. Thinking ahead trying to figure out how am I going to:
Stop the bottle?
When to start weaning off them?
He still hasnt picked up on the sippy cup.

There is no rush. If he hasn't figured out the sippy yet just wait a bit. My DD didn't give up bottles until 17 months. We went completely cold turkey and she adjusted after a day or two.

I tried to around 12 months.
It was a DISASTER.
She was acting like a crack addict who needed their fix.
Writhing, screaming- it was absolutley awful.
I realzied she was not ready.
Around 15 months, my DH was watchign her one day and when I came home from work he said- oh she's off the bottles.
I was like 
He said he just told her that the bottles were gone- no more bottles.
SHe drank willingly from a cup.
No issues, no drama.
So I truly believe when they are ready they are ready.
No need to force it.

Totally agree with this. At 12 months they are still just babies and if they're bottle fed a majority of the time it is very jarring for them to suddently lose the thing that was their main source of food/comfort. And kinda cruel IMO.
We did it little by little, starting with afternoon bottles. Then morning...then bedtime. Completely done by 17/18 months.

what is so bad about the bottle?
If they were 3 or 4 I can see it- not at 1.
I just feel like eveyrthing is so rushed nowadays.
And for no good reason.

From what I gather it's due to teeth (because people let their kids sleep all night with bottles in their mouths).
I thought DS 2 would give it up easily but, the times I tried he was like a crack addict as well. He threw the cup of milk at me. I'm waiting until he gets his incissors in since they are making him beyond miserable (he's currently 15 mos).

my dd is 10 months and there is no way she is giving them up anytime soon lol. She still takes 4 bottles per day, totaling about 30 oz. I try to make the bottles less than 8 oz sometimes. She totally lets me know when she needs a bottle. Not looking forward to weening her. But I'm in no rush.

I was just about to write the same thing...
I did bottle by 2 and binkie by 2.5 with all my kids
And all is fine!
