Transitioning a pre-walker to shoes for the summer?

My DD has been barefoot or in socks for the first 11 months of her life. She has been cruising since 8.5 months, but is not walking independently. Now that she is going outside, I like to put soft-soled shoes on her to protect her feet. She is not thrilled with having them on, and when I tried putting sandals on her for the first time the other day, to look cute with an outfit, she was not having it. Did anyone go through this with their DC? If you had a pre-walker during the spring and summer, what kind of shoes did you put on them?

I'd like to know as well bc my dd hates shoes on her feet... She tries ripping them off... I don't blame her... She's not used to them!

DD started in these from payless. They're really light weight and narrow so it was easy for her to get used to them. Plus they were cheap since she didn't wear then a ton since she's just cruising. Now she's in stride right mary jane style sneakers but I plan to buy her a stride right sandal for the summer.

First summer shoes for both boys was crocs. I was never a fan of them, but surprisingly they were 100% fine in them and walked just as well too.

My dd has been walking since 9 months which was in march. She hates shoes but I just started putting them on her all the time. She is getting better with them. At first she kept picking her feet up and refused to walk. Once she realized she could walk in them she was much better. I prefer stride rite soft soles not robeezes.
