Dr. Brown's pitcher question
When you make a bunch of bottles, do you put less liquid in to account for the volume increase from the powder? DD eats 32 oz a day, but I only fill the pitcher up with 29 oz of water which results in 4 8oz bottles. Does anyone else do it this way?
ETA: I also adjust the powder scoops accordingly to maintain the right proportion. So I end up needing less water and powder to get 32oz of mixed formula.

I don't. If I want 32 oz, I just use 32 oz of water and don't really take into account the extra few ounces it actually makes. Not sure it really makes much of a difference either way though.

You really shouldn't be doing it that way because then you're not getting the right water-to-powder ratio. It can actually make your baby sick doing that - not usual, but possible

I'm cutting down the powder accordingly to maintain the same ratio. So when I fill with 29 oz of water, I use 14.5 scoops. That results in 32 oz of mixed formula.

I use the right amount of scoops. I just reduce the amount of water and scoops bc it makes more in volume. To make 32 oz of formula, I use 29 oz and 14.5 scoops. If I used 32oz and 16scoops, I'd end up with 35oz of total formula.

I have not done it like that. Even tho you are reducing both I personally would not feel comfortable. I wouldn't know if I measured half scoop right.

I just use any left over the next day. It's good for 24 hrs once prepared. The only time it gets wasted is when she doesn't finish the bottle. I always have 1 or 2 bottles left over for the morning so I'm not making it while she's screaming
