Toddler Bedding and PJs for Summer

We only switched my 2 yr old DS to a toddler bed a few weeks ago. He has a convertable crib, it's not a new bed-like toddler crib. We didn't get new bedding, still have the crib bumpers, fitted sheet, a small pillow, and he rolls around with 2 fleecey blankets all night. He's still wearing his footy fleece PJs every night.

I was shopping around for summer PJs online yesterday and see most places show short sleeve shirts and shorts. I think my DS might freeze in those. Then I was looking for pants with a short sleeve top and those are around, but harder to find. I should mention DS is a bit chubby so the snug fit ones are super tight and seem uncomfortable plus they look ridiculous on him.

It got me thinking of his bedding and was wondering if it's time to "make" him a bed, like tuck in a top sheet and blanket and such. I think it might be a waste since he trashes so much during the night.

I was just wondering what PJs you put your toddlers in for the summer and how their bedding was structured so they don't get cold from the AC. TIA.

We put him in shorts and tshirt, but we also still use a sleepsack. He's also in a toddler bed (crib converted). When we converted we gave him the blanket that came with his crib set, though I'm not sure if it's on him all night. Since we have wall a/c I just set his a little higher (usually 70 or 71).

i just got DS 3 piece PJ sets from carters. it comes with a tshirt, shorts and pants. they are not by any means snug, very loose fitting in fact. i'm also planning on putting a cotton sleep sack on him since there is an air conditioner in his room and he rolls around so much that he can't use a blanket.
