Britax Marathon-Installation Help.
Update: You guys are awesome! He figured it out after I sent him a link...He ended up tethering it to the passenger rail. Thanks for the quick responses!
We got the Britax marathon. My husband is trying to installing it and is texting me with all of these questions, which I of course have no idea about.
He is saying the the rear tether configuration would require for the straps to go around the carseat right by the baby's head.
Sort of like this...except we dont have a mini van. we have a 4 door nissan
How did you tether your britax? This cant be possible....link to what i mean

i cant see the picture but i teether mine using the passanger seat rail things ... the things the seat goes back and forth on.
I drive a honda pilot
saw the link i got mine installed by the car seat people and they used the dring and anchored to the passagner leg like stated below

Britax Marathon-Installation Help.
There are two ways to tether it rear-facing, one is that highly bizarre (to me, at least) way you show above. The other is to anchor it down to the leg of the passenger seat using what I think is called the D-clip.

Yes, this.
I remember seeing the other way in the manual and I was like how the heck would I get them in and out of there with those straps over their head. 
Tell him to look on britax website or youtube. I found a bunch of super helpful installation videos from there.

we have tether hooks on the bottom of our driver's seat and passenger's seat as well as on the backs of the rear sears (chevy trailblazer) dd is behind the driver's seat and the staps are tethered down to the bottombof the driver's seat

I have mine tethered same as some of the above posters, which is to the rail of the front passenger seat.
Britax has some installation videos, this should help.

i would bring it to a car seat inspection station. We were so sure we had installed our seat correctly, but once we had it inspected, they did it a completely different way and showed us how it should be done. It's different for every car so to be safe, i would trust the professionals

Britax Marathon-Installation Help.
You can do the Australian method or Swedish method of tethering for Britax and both are correct.
I prefer the Swedish method (the kind that attaches to the front seat track or other fixed part) over the Australian method (which goes across the seat and tethers to the tether anchor like you would if the seat was FF) simply because it is easier to get the child in and out.
