pap smear and phone call?
Not sure what board to put this on but I read this one the most....has anyone gotten a phone call regarding pap smear results? I got home from work and they left a message to call back for my results. In the past I think I got a card. I am REALLY nervous now. Does anyone know if they call with normal results, I'm guessing not

At my ob-gyn the assistant calls to tell me the results if they are good. I think the doctor would make the call if anything was wrong.

Well a few months ago when I was pregnant with DS, the Dr. office called me and left me a message to call them back, so naturally I started to panic, when the NP got on the phone, she said I just wanted to let you know your results came back normal. I completely panicked for no reason. I would say not to worry or be nervous until you speak to the Dr. It may be nothing. Good Luck

Thanks ladies that is good to know, I am going to call first thing in the morning..I just don't remember ever getting a phone call.

Different offices/doctors do it differently so it's hard to say. At my current doctor, they only call if there's a problem. I also worked at an obgyn office where they sent cards... hopefully all is well but it could just be something minor like a broken slide, inflammation, or a minor infection.

Mine only calls if the results are not good, otherwise I never hear from them. But some call you either way...
