Does your insurance co cover Alimentum
Did you have to fight them for it? I think dd is going to have to go in it but dr said some companies don't cover it. We are on soy now but it doesn't seem to be working.
Can I call the ins and check if they cover it?

I have unhc and mine covered it but it all depends on your individual coverage. mine did because my husband's company allowed it.

I used Neocate, but my insurance (UHC) covered Alimentum as well. I needed it to be prescribed by the doctor. When I called I got different answers from different people. I needed to really talk to the prescription plan people, not the insurance people. All my doctor had to do was fax a prescription with a diagnosis code to the insurance company. I think I also had a form from the insurance company that he faxed as well. My dd was on it for 14 months with no issues from insurance. They just sent it every 3 months!

I have Empire.
It covered Similac Sensitive RS for my DD and now covering Enfamil Nutramigen for DS.

Exactly! We have the same ins and DHs co excluded it from the policies. It didnt matter why, they wont cover it at all.

GHI doesn't cover it but my RX is through Caremark (union plan) and they only cover 1/2, so it ends up costing me the same as regular formula would.
