NK (Natural Killer) Gene
Has anyone heard of this gene? It is an autoimmune disorder, and my doctor suspects I have it and am being tested for it. Apparently it attacks any potential baby, so prevents pregnancy. There are options (IV therapy with lipids from a visiting nurse for a few hours a couple of times a month).
This is just one more thing...l. I don't know how many one more things I can handle.
I am afraid to Google.

I have never heard of it! What makes your dr think you have it? Google is bad, although I never listen to my own advice I wish I knew what to tell you I'm sorry

My doctor suspects I may, ties into some thrompopholia issues I have, as well asrepeat miscarriage, high "false positive" tests, etc.

I know my RE tested me for this in my initial blood work (she took like 12 tubes) and I remember I was negative. Your DR should be able to just check with bW. Try not to get yourself scared with google until it is confirmed. I know, easier said than done bc I am always freaking myself out on the internet!! It's too easy lol

Many girls on here have had to do intralipids and swear by it
I know they will give u great info

Do they come to your house? Does insurance cover it?
I think you saw or were seeing Kofinas, was this through him or your RE?

i did intralipids for elevated NK cells. it was part of what worked for me. DD is almost 2 years old now.
for me they came to my house and did the infusions there. it took 2-3 hours each time and i had to do it around ovulation/ER and then again after a BFP and every 3 weeks or so til 12 weeks.

Yup my NK cells attacked and I had multiple miscarriages... I am currently 20.5 weeks pregnant w/ twins and have been doing Intralipid IV infusions pretty much every 2 weeks and dr Braverman monitors my immune levels after every infusion.

i had it. dr B was treating me. We tried intralipids 2 times, no effect had to do IVIG. twice as well. came to my house, IV procedure was covered, medicine was not. I moved on to have a successful pregnancy, which is most important

Sorry I just saw this now. For me, the IV bag is covered, but administration of it is not unless I did it at my RE's office in the city. I did not experience any side effects other than a continued healthy pregnancy. Good luck!

i did it for TI cycles (never did IUIs) and for IVF. if you have the issue it needs to be treated regardless of your cycle protocol.

I had high NK numbers and did intralipids with Dr. Braverman every month for the first 4 mths. I went to his office and Linda administered the IV. $200 a pop but well worth it...

Thanks. Did you also do IUI or IVF, or did the intralipids alone do the trick?

I had the test today, will know by Monday at the latest. My doctor's office is closed on Good Friday, but there's a chance I will hear on Thursday.
