Homeopathic meds for cold/cough/congestion?

DS is 3 and started with a wet cough, I can hear the mucus/phlegm in there. Runny nose has started also. DH had a cold so I suspect that's where DS got it.

I imagine that when I call the ped they'll tell me its viral and that there is nothing to do. This would be fine if we weren't flying out on Saturday for our vacation

I'm desperate to help him feel better and came across Similisan Kids Cough/Cold Syrup at CVS. I had it in my hand but just wasn't sure about it. Has anyone tried this? Is it safe?

Any other suggestions about homeopathic remedies or anything? Saw one by Hyland's but it has Sodium Benzoate which is a preservative I've seen in soy sauce (i suffer from migraines and stay away from stuff like that) so I was uneasy about that one.

I am in the same boat but my DS is 18 mos. I saw the same products and just couldn't buy them. I got Zarbee's, which so far has done nothing. I actually took DS to the doc today since this has been going on for almost a week now and was told it is viral, it will pass... :(

Try researching some essential oil combinations. I have found them to be very useful when we are sick!

We have used Little Noses nose drops and it really helps clear things up so he can breathe.

ive used the hylands (tahe regular and night time) and i feel like they help a little....i swear my daughter sleeps better when she has a cold and takes the hylands night time.

ive also used little colds - honey elixer for my daughters coughs. it does have the sodium benzoate in it tho.
