Had another growth sono on Sat

They are saying all of a sudden that she is measuring small. They have her at 5lbs10oz at 37 w... she was 4lbs 14oz at 34w.

All the fluid levels and organs are fine.

They said were gonna put you on the "machine" without telling me what the machine was and they let me face it and see all the readings and stuff so i got to sit there for 10 minutes with her heart rate going from 130s to 170s up and down and seeing the spikes on the print out... that really bothered me that they didnt tell me what it was i was doing... i assumed it was the NST but i didnt know for sure.

The dr came in and looked at the print out and said... "gorgeous, happy baby" but he still wants me to come back every week.

hmm that is strange that they didnt tell you what they were doing to you. but in the end, as long as the baby looks good that is what matters.

They always told me my son was measuring small, he was born at 6lbs9oz but everything was measuring small, legs, arms blah blah. He was 26lbs BIG boy at a year old. Now ppl cant believe that hes almost 3, they think he looks older. Dont worry about it!

Growth sonos are inaccurate! My LO went from the 77th percentile down to the 46th from one month to the next. It's usually a matter of how the technician did the measurements.

And remember, at 37 weeks you should be going weekly! Relax and enjoy your last few weeks being pregnant (if you can get comfy!).

At my growth sono the sono tech was yawning and making too much small talk for my liking. I knew I should have said something, because I was ******** to my dh all the way down to the car. Well we walk in to the obs office and lo and behold there was an "issue" the head was measuring larger than the stomach. So now everytime I go I have to sit on this machine that checks the heart rate and click a button when he moves. AND I have to go back for another sono. Not that it won't be great to see the LO again, but humans are fallible and they can make you worry for no reason. At least they're being careful I suppose.

im not worried about her being small, shes still head down and i want a vaginal delivery so im ok with her being smaller. lol. I just dont like that they didnt tell me anything before putting me on the "machine".

I was born at 5lbs 10oz, at 42weeks, and I'm a perfectly healthy adult......haha!!!

Yes that was a nst. One line is the baby and one line measures for contractions. Did you get the jeopardy button that you had to push every time the baby moved??? I had the NST weekly all 3rd tri.

doesnt seem small to me! DD measured 5.11 lbs at 37w and was born at 39w 7.6lbs

this happened to me at around the same time. the baby didnt grow much in a 2-3 week span. first they thought i might have pre-e. i was put on modified bed rest and had to do all the urine checks and such. every sono was always perfect though. fluids were good, maybe a lil low some days. i got nervous and thought i was going to have a smaller baby. i ran out and bought newborn size clothing just incase. meanwhile i ended up being induced at 40w5d and dd was 8lbs 5 oz !!! they just put you on the machine to see if you were having contractions and to make sure babys heart rate was not jumping all over. I had to go on the NST twice a week and I never showed any contractions at all , lol. Dont worry your lil girl is at a great weight for where you are at right now!! good luck !!

I could have written this post word for word myself. I went through this on friday, according to my growth sono the baby is measuring a little over 5lbs and that is "small" by their standards so they hooked me up to the sensors also, that's the non-stress test by the way (NST) it monitors the baby's heart rate and contractions, if any. They actually want me there twice a week, I'm 38 weeks on Thursday - I see my OB tomorrow and I think once a week is enough. My son was born at 40w3d and he was 6lbs 2oz, I have small babies, I'm not worried.

I hate those machines !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The day Adriana was born I was hooked up. I kept telling them I was having contractions and they said "umm no you're not" I yelled saying " YOU GOT THIS FCUKIN THING ON WRONG" Then they said her HR dropped and I needed to stay on it for another 45mins to make sure it was a fluke. As soon as I got off the machine I went to the BR and poof my water was breaking. TOLD YOU I WAS HAVING CONTRACTIONS!!!

So not kool they didn't tell you what they were doing and why.

Probably just a NST. I know that is part of the test I have to go for on Thurs. A BPP, where they look with the sonogram and electrodes to check on the babies. But never feel funny asking what they are doing. You have the right to understand it.

I had my OB appt last night, they were going to do another NST since they actually got the report from my MFM in time for my appointment... and since ive been having a lot more BH.... but they decided to just do another sono... They measured her at 5lbs 15oz. They still think shes going to be on the smaller side... but again i dont really care since i want a vaginal delivery.

Lulu, i dont know why i didnt ask... i think because i had a feeling it was the NST, i should have asked what the readings meant since they left me facing it i could see everything.
