FMLA for Military Deployment
Has anyone taken FMLA for a Military Deployment of their spouse (or other family member)?
DH is in the reserves and it looks like he is going to be deploying this summer. I was hoping to be able to use the 12 weeks of FMLA in pieces by taking off one day a week (unpaid) for the entire year he is going to be gone to be home with my DC.
Does anyone know if that would be allowed under the FMLA rules? In reading the literature, it sounds like you have to have a qualifying "reason" for every absence (counseling, daycare emergency, visit with the deployed person, etc)... It's like they give you 12 weeks FMLA protected leave but the rules make it impossible to take it.
Thanks in advance!
