Re: Do you give LO home made food or jarred?
homemade...
2 hours/weekend and we're set for the whole week...sometimes even week and a half. and these babies can EAT! we go through probably 24 ounces or so each day! A little less now that we're also giving them yogurt and some table foods.
I don't think I could afford to buy jarred anyway! haha

Do you give LO home made food or jarred?
Jarred. I work full time and don't want to spend my free time making my own. I usually just buy gerber.

95% of the time it was jars. Gerber jars. She would get Gerber organic if it was on sale because then it was cheaper than the regular Gerber. When she started on meat I always gave her Earth's Best. My advice is to do what's best for you and your family! I tried making her food and it was so time consuming. Half the time she wouldn't eat it. It just didn't work for us so I didn't stress about it. Now that she's on table food it's much easier. She just eats what we eat.

All homemade with both my boys. I love doing it, I have fun with it! And I love knowing exactly what is going into everything they eat. The flavor is so much more rich and true too!

DS is on table food now but we did mostly homemade. He did eat jarred if we were out and about. He preferred earth bests jarred to anything else.
This word for word.

I used jarred. I had no patience or time to make my own... I saw no reason for it
ETA- and I will admit it was Gerber. Not Earth's Best or Plum
OMg..that you for posting this. I was starting to think I was the only one using Gerber and nothing organic. you made me feel a lot better
Well obviously the Gerber stuff is selling because it still has the highest market share of all the baby foods- so I guess it's everyone's dirty little secret!
Nobody admits to it- but someone is buying it! Last I read the labels, POISON wasn't listed as an ingrediant... so I think we are ok!

Re: Do you give LO home made food or jarred?
Gerber is just fine, not sure what the big deal is about it We gave Gerber and Earths Best when we could get it bulk/on sale i also made some of his food myself but only when i had time (usually 10:00 at night would find me madly blending veggies in the kitchen ) then when he transitioned to solid food, i would use the pureed veggies to mix with chunks of meat
the jars/pouches etc are all fine, don't let anyone make you feel bad for using them! Just watch out for things that have unnecessary amounts of sugar (like canned fruit or some applesauce)

Re: Do you give LO home made food or jarred?
A mix of jarred and homemade. I personally did not believe the homemade stuff I made was superior in any particular way-- I only did it to save a few bucks here and there. I never really bought into the whole "My baby NEVER ate food from a jar" bragging rights. People purposely maintain gardens so that they can preserve their food... in JARS. Now jars are taboo?

What's funny was once Earth's Best was on sale somewhere so I grabbed a few jars just to see what the hype was. DD HATED it. Spit it out and refused it. I guess she's like her mama- not into the organics!
