I give Plum Organic pouches and have also made applesauce, banana, butternut squash, carrots, peaches, and I forget what else. When he starts meats I hopefully plan to make it for him, but who knows what I will end up doing. I love the convenience of the pouches ! Not a fan of jarred food, for no reason in particular...

I started out with jars only but now that im trying to get him used to textures, I am attempting to make super soft veggie and mash them. We tried homemade apple sauce and he hated it but loves jarred apples so we do both.

DS got mostly homemade, but I would keep jars of Earth's Best and the Plum/Happy Baby/Earth's Best puree pouches on hand and he would get these once in awhile.

I used jarred. I had no patience or time to make my own... I saw no reason for it
ETA- and I will admit it was Gerber. Not Earth's Best or Plum

So far just jarred while she has been starting solids. Eventually I might try making some of my own, but in all honesty, I work full time and we're always busy on the weekends. When DD is awake, she likes undivided attention, so time is limited. I have trouble staying on top of my housework as it is.

Re: Do you give LO home made food or jarred?
I did both. Jars/pouches and homemade. Jars/pouches were easier for a few reasons but especially because I didn't have to worry about it going bad.

Re: Do you give LO home made food or jarred?
I did jars. Whatever was cheapest, mostly Gerber. I didn't want to be bothered with making my own. And he only ate purees for about 4 months anyway.

Re: Do you give LO home made food or jarred?
As we are trying new fruits and veggies, we are using jars... once we have covered them all so we know for sure he doesn't have reactions to any of them, then we are going to make them ourselves.
Not sure about meats though--- that is something we may just purchase jarred.

Re: Do you give LO home made food or jarred?
For the first 2-3 months, all the food was homemade. Then when he started on meats, I did venture into some jarred foods. Now at 8 months, he's already eating small bits of real food, so we've been trying more of that these days.

Re: Do you give LO home made food or jarred?
While they are just starting to get used to flavors/textures (and spitting most out) I use jars. Once they get the knack for eating I make a lot of my own. I make big batches and always find it time consuming so I wait until they are actually eating it before I start.

We used mostly homemade, but had the pouches for when we were out. DD is 17 months and still loves those pouches.

Well obviously the Gerber stuff is selling because it still has the highest market share of all the baby foods- so I guess it's everyone's dirty little secret!
Nobody admits to it- but someone is buying it! Last I read the labels, POISON wasn't listed as an ingrediant... so I think we are ok!

I'll admit it, that's what I buy too. I'm not sure what could be so bad about green beans and water!
I turned out alright and I'm positive I was fed whatever was cheap. My mom loves to tell me how when I was a baby and she had to leave me, she'd leave a bottle of juice or water since she didn't have a pump and never bought formula.

I tried Gerber, but neither of my kids liked it. I make my own except the meat ones. Mostly we just give him what we eat and put it in the food processor, but when we eat nuts or fish I give him an Earth's Best meal. I just can't get the meals right lol.

I make my own. Really takes no time at all. Veggies & fruits only though. We started to serve chicken, meatballs when we were up to table food.
