BFing Moms: How often does DC eat?

DS2 will be 4 months old next week. He has been STTN for a while. He only nurses 4-5 times per day. DS1 ate more frequently at that age and never STTN until he was 7 months old so this is new to me. During the day, DS2 eats every 3-4 hours and sometimes goes even longer.

Is it normal for a 3-4 month old to only eat 4 or maybe 5 times per day? He seems to be gaining weight, but I thought babies ate more frequently at that age especially if they were EBF.

My DD is almost 3 months old and she sleeps 6-9 hours a night but she still eats about 8-10 times a day.

My DS ate about 5 times a day at that point and still does, hes about 5 months now. He also started oatmeal at that point so maybe that helped, but he still doesnt STTN the majority of the time. I definitly think its normal, every baby is different!

At that age, both my boys nursed 5 times a day and STTN.
