Hurricane related help needed - has anyone heard of:
If anyone has heard of the following, I'd appreciate it:
A place near Hicksville to take a hot shower - maybe a gym or something?
A hotel room somewhere between Central Nassau and Central Suffolk.
Any family and friends that can take us in are too far considering our work and daycare limitations.

Hurricane related help needed - has anyone heard of:
631-232-3000 Islandia Marriott has rooms, I would call NOW though
not sure of that is too far.
Also call the Marriott Melville, because sometimes the availability isn't updated online. Many people cancel right before the cutoff of 6pm. 631-423-1600

The Town of North Hempstead opened the following Comfort Stations:
Aquatic Activity Center at Tully Park
1801 Evergreen Avenue
New Hyde Park
North Hempstead “Yes We Can” Community Center
141 Garden Street
Westbury
The Clubhouse at Harbor Links Golf Course
1 Fairway Drive
Port Washington
They are open from 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and there are showers.

Newsday also lists Cantiague Park in Hicksville - from 8 am to 11 pm. and the mithcel Athletic Complex in Uniondale is also a shower site in Nassau - same hours.
