Disney Fans : When to go?
ok.. stupid - I know - SUPER stupid. I'm scraping up change to pay for gas and I've got a second job to put food on the table but we are SOOOOOO Going to Disney next year!
I was torn since its my 10yr anniversary but I had told my hubby on our honeymoon (in Disney) that Disney is what I wanted for our 10yr.
So now the question is
WHEN?
OCTOBER? Our anniversary (10/23) is then and this is usually when we go for Halloween week/weekend. We love the weather, the fact that its all decked out for halloween then magically becomes Christmas one morning. Huge trees and decor!
NOVEMBER? So you think going say the 2nd week of November would be good? We could enjoy more of the Christmas shows? Close enough to our anniversary. Does it really snow on Main Street?
Yes, AJ is coming with us (no way we'd leave her behind).
We may actually NOT stay in our very favorite Port Orleans French Quarter *IF* and only IF the animation studio hotel isn't astronomical.
WWYD?

I voted for November only because that's when I went with the kids three years ago. The Osborn Family Christmas thing at Hollywood Studios was absolutely magical and probably the highlight of the trip for me. And yes! It was snowing!

Re: Disney Fans : When to go?
I love Disney but I haven't been there that many times and only once as an adult. DH and I were there 2 years ago in mid October. It didn't seem THAT crowded (although I don't have much to compare it to) and they had the wine and food (or whatever it's called) festival going on at Epcot. I was soooo bummed that I couldn't partake in the wine and some of the food (I was pregnant at the time). I said I definitely want to head back there as a non-prego and fully enjoy that festival at Epcot. It definitely added a lot to it. Have a great time, I can't wait to go back when DD is a bit older! I'm already planning the trip in my head, lol.
edit- Ok, now that I see the post above I might say do November becuase the holiday decorations look amazing. I don't remember when the wine and food thing ends.

Agreed. I went in October for halloween, very cool. Went in December for Christmas...AMAZING. THe decor is worht the trip. You could literally just walk around and look at all the different themed trees and the gingerbread houses. And the Osborn Family lights in HS was fantastic! As was the holidy Wishes Fireworks at MK.
If you went for halloween already I say go for the holiday decor!!!

Re: Disney Fans : When to go?
There is a website that will tell you the crowds: google it!
As for cash... if you are hard up, why don't you just stay in a non-Disney hotel? We NEVER had the cash to stay in a Disney hotel when I was a kid. By reading this website, you'd think long islanders were super wealthy! I'm still too cheap to do a photography package for the holidays.
Plenty have free shuttles to Disney. For example, Ramada gateway is $40 a night this December. Free shuttle & two pools. It also looks really nice.
