I don't know where I went wrong!

DD always went to sleep on her own from when she was a newborn, I would put her in her bassinet/crib at the same time every night while she was drowsy and she would fall alseep on her own without a peep..As she got older and her schedule was consistent (4 months) Id give her her last bottle at her bedtime and she would fall asleep while drinking the bottle or be drowsy, Id put her in her crib and she would STTN

DD is now 10 months old and I have no idea what in the world happened but most nights she will not fall asleep on the bottle and I cant put her in her crib to fall asleep unless she is ain a DEEP sleep-- If I try she starts WAILING.

I dont know if I somehow got her used to
a bad habit of being rocked to sleep or if she is just more aware now and doesnt want mommy to leave her at night? Separation Anxiety? I have no clue but I tired so hard to establish good habits and I feel liek somehwere along the line I messed that all up..

ANy advice or thoughts on how I can gert her back to sleeping on her own?

You didn't do anything wrong! My guess is that your DD is just older and more aware, and thinking more. She used to fall asleep with the last bottle (a little baby habit) and now she doesn't (she's older). You try to put her down in the crib awake, and she's thinking, "What?! This isn't how we do this! I fall asleep in Mommy's arms and THEN I go to the crib!" It's all she knows, so she's confused and upset when it doesn't happen that way.

It sounds like you need to show her what her new routine is. If you don't want to rock her to sleep every night (and you shouldn't!), figure out what you want the routine to be and be consistent. For us at 10m, it was bath, pj's and a song, read 2 or 3 books, nursing, and then crib. At 12 months I dropped the nursing and did NOT replace it with a bottle - I replaced it with 2 or 3 minutes of cuddle time in the dark with her sound machine and projector on (projects animals onto the ceiling as a nightlight). Then I sing her a lullaby and put her into her crib awake. Establish a new routine and get her used to going to bed after it. And decide how you want to deal with the crying. You can let her CIO and check in on her every 10 minutes (or just on the monitor) and have her learn that after the song, book, cuddle, it's time to sleep and you're not coming back in. CIO worked great for us. If you don't want to do that, maybe you could do cuddle time for as long as it takes the first night, and then a few minutes less the second night, and then a few minutes less, until eventually you just hold her for a few minutes and then put her down awake.

Whatever you do, just make sure she knows what's coming and knows that at the end of it, you are gone and it's time to sleep. Good luck!

Just a small idea, but I've found that it helps if I put DD down in her room and it's dark so she can't actually see me leave. Silly, but on a rough night whatever works!
